The low-light TV system mainly includes three parts: low-light TV camera, transmission channel and receiving display device. Among them, the low-light TV camera not only has the function of ordinary TV camera, but also prominently shows the function of enhancing low-light image. The transmission channel of low-light TV can be a closed-circuit transmission method by means of cables or optical cables, or an open-circuit method using microwaves and ultra-short waves for space transmission. Its receiving display device is not significantly different from that of ordinary TVs.

 

In the military, low-light TV can be used for the following occasions; ① night reconnaissance, monitoring enemy positions, master the enemy's assembly, transfer and other night operations; ② record enemy terrain, important fortifications, large equipment, and find some hidden targets ③With its long-distance transmission function, the information of the enemy's deep territory is transmitted to the decision-making organ in real time; ④It forms a new type of photoelectric fire control system with laser rangefinder, infrared tracker (or thermal imager), computer, etc.; ⑤In electronic interference Or provide an alternative or supplementary means for the fire control system under the condition that the radar is suppressed;

 

At present, foreign troops are equipped with low-light TV equipment in all arms. Equipped with low-light TVs for important weapons such as fighters, bombers, submarines, tanks, reconnaissance vehicles, and warships, the combat performance will be more complete. In terms of public safety, low-light TV can be used to form a monitoring and warning system to implement long-distance nighttime monitoring and warning for airports, banks, archives, cultural relics, important organs, military warehouses, etc. The contribution of low-light TV to human vision is similar to that of low-light night vision devices in terms of extending the airspace, extending the time domain, and broadening the frequency domain. At the same time, low-light TV has some new features: ①It makes human vision break through the limitation of having to face the scene in order to observe effectively; ②It breaks through the shackles that require people to be in the same place with the night vision equipment, and realizes that they are far away from the scene of the instrument 3. Image processing can be implemented to improve visibility; 4. Its disadvantages are: 1) the higher price, which limits the large-scale equipment; 2) the power consumption is large, and the volume and weight are large; 3) the operation and maintenance are more complicated, which affects its popularization and application.
