Atmosphere, smoke cloud, etc. absorb visible light and near-infrared, but it is transparent to 3~5um and 8~14pm infrared. Therefore, these two bands are called the "atmospheric window" of the infrared. Using these two windows, it is possible to clearly observe the situation ahead on a completely dark night, or in a harsh environment full of smoke. It is precisely because of this feature that infrared imaging technology will play a great role in the field of security protection.

1 can realize the monitoring of the target under intermittent and severe weather conditions

At night, visible light equipment can no longer work properly. If artificial lighting is used, it is easy to expose the target. If low-light night vision equipment is used, it also works in the visible light band and still needs external light illumination. The infrared imager passively receives the infrared thermal radiation of the target itself, which can work normally no matter the day or night, and will not expose the target. Also under severe weather conditions such as rain and fog, due to the short wavelength of visible light, the ability to overcome obstacles is poor, so the observation effect is poor but the wavelength of infrared light is long, especially the thermal imager that works at 8~14pm, penetrates rain , The ability of fog is high, so the target can still be observed normally. Therefore, at night and under severe weather conditions, infrared imaging monitoring equipment can be used to monitor various targets, such as personnel and vehicles.

2 Intelligent video surveillance and identification of the target

Generally, camouflage is mainly to prevent visible light observation. For example, criminals usually hide in the grass and woods. Because of the harsh field environment and human visual illusion, it is easy to make wrong judgments and not recognize them. The infrared thermal imager passively receives the thermal radiation of the target itself. When the human body and the vehicle are hidden in the grass and woods, its temperature and infrared radiation are generally much larger than the temperature and infrared radiation of the grass and trees, so it is easy to be automatically identified. .

In addition, ordinary surveillance cameras cannot see the hidden objects covered by the surface of the luminous object, and cannot effectively detect and identify buried stolen items. The infrared imager developed using infrared imaging technology can detect and identify it, because when a surface is messed up, the thermal profile of the surface is also destroyed, such as the thermal radiation of turned over soil and compacted soil. Thermal radiation is different. Therefore, buried items, etc. can be found through this function of the infrared imager.

3 fire monitoring

Since the infrared imager is a device that reflects the surface temperature of an object, it can be used not only as an on-site monitoring at night, but also as an effective fire alarm device. For example, in a large area of forest, fires are often caused by invisible fires. sparked, which is the source of devastating fires. With the existing ordinary monitoring system, it is difficult to find such hidden fire signs. However, with aircraft patrolling and infrared imagers, the location and scope of the fire can be accurately determined, and the fire point can be found through the smoke, and the fire can be eliminated in the budding stage.

Grain silos tend to ignite spontaneously. In the past, thermometers were generally used to measure temperature changes. The use of infrared imagers can accurately determine the location and scope of these fires, so as to know early, prevent early, and put out early.

4 Can effectively detect and identify abandoned luggage and other leftover objects

For leftover objects such as abandoned luggage packages, ordinary surveillance cameras can only see the external features of the luggage packages due to the limitation of natural light imaging, and it is difficult to observe the items contained in the luggage packages, so they cannot be analyzed. However, since the heat generated by the object emits infrared radiation, it also forms a certain surface temperature distribution field around the object, and the heating power of different objects is not the same, so the heat diffusion emitted by different objects inside the object is different from that of the object. Surface temperatures are different. Therefore, using infrared imaging technology, it is easy to see through and analyze the contents of the luggage package.

Because the infrared thermal image of the luggage package observed by infrared imaging technology will inevitably show its different surface temperature characteristics. By intelligently analyzing the characteristics of the infrared image of the luggage package, the characteristics of the contents inside can be deduced, so that it can be properly processed. For example, it can detect and analyze the combustibles and explosives inside the leftover objects such as abandoned luggage and packages.

5 Infrared imaging equipment can be used as a life detector

Using the principle of infrared imaging, an infrared imaging life detector can be made to search for survivors in ruins and tiles. The body temperature of the survivors can be found with a thermal imager. Using the principle of infrared imaging, by detecting the difference between the injured or the victim and the surrounding temperature and heat, an infrared image of the human body is formed (see Figure 8-5) to help the rescue team locate the victim in or around the ruined area. Infrared imaging detectors can detect and display the body heat of victims, helping rescuers quickly locate victims buried under rubble or hidden behind dust clouds.
